Did God Fail Us?

Where was God in the Tsunami tragedy? Why didn’t God allow so many people to die? Is there not a God? Or was God acting on avarice, punishing these people for some sin? Did God fail us?
People around the world are seeking answers to these questions, trying to comprehend God’s role in the Tsunami.
Spiritual leaders around the world rebut these questions with:
The answers that sit well with you depend upon your level of spiritual consciousness and prevailing belief system.
For me, the answer is a combination of all of the above. The reason for the loss of life is relative to each victim. Perhaps some victims were indeed working off karma while others saw it as an opportunity to serve God through sacrifice for a higher good. Others may simply have been in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Whatever, the reason, focusing now on the aftermath, giving aid and intervention to preclude disease, starvation, and further loss of life is imperative. This type of effort gives meaning and hope, turning travesty into God’s positive work in progress. There is evidence all around of God in this positive work:
Someone who sees God as some external power, sitting in the heavens, is more negatively affected by this tragedy as opposed to someone who sees God as an internal force that works through us.
The Truth is that All is God substance, from inanimate objects to living things to humans. God flows in and through us. We are each an individual expression of God and through us God experiences itself, ever expanding in consciousness. Our positive thoughts, speech and actions reflect God. Our negative thoughts, speech and actions reflect our ignorance and misunderstanding of the mark… of God’s mark which is Life, Love and Goodness.
Our healing actions are God in action. We are God’s work in progress as is the healing that is occurring from the Tsunami. Once you understand the process of God, all makes sense. Is the Tsunami not an opportunity for expressing God, for healing and raising our consciousness?
What sought of God are you expressing…one of Goodness, Love and Life? It’s your choice! You are not just God’s creation, but God’s expression. What are you expressing? How are you painting your life?
In answer to the original question, “did God fail us?”, my answer is no, unless we fail ourselves.
