Letting Go and Letting God (Surrendering to God)

1.  How many here worry?  How many here have stress?

2.  Sacred knowledge gives us permanent solutions to many of our problems.  This morning I’m going to sacred knowledge that addresses the problems of worry and stress.  However, it is your choice to worry or be worry-free, to be stressed or stress-free.

3.  What is worry?  What is stress?

a. Both conditions are caused by an out-of-control mind under the influence of fear.  Fear is faith turned up side down.  It is the absence of trust.

b. Worry is a useless and destructive habit that keeps us from enjoying God-given life.

·        Worry agitates the minds, causing turbulence, stress, and even illness.

·        It puts out negative thoughts and fears that may even become reality.

·        We create the very thing we fear.

c. Can anyone tell me how worry helps you?

d. Don’t engage in activities that do not benefit and help you to live a prosperous, successful life.

e.  Say:

4.  Distress (worry, anxiety, physical stress) is part of our lives until we completely surrender to God’s will.  But that isn’t as easy as it sounds.  If it were, everyone would be blissed-out, free from worry and stress.  But we aren’t.

a. Until we have total and complete trust and faith in Universal Intelligence (God/Goddess, in the Divine Presence within) to love, protect, and maintain us, we will always be afraid and anxious, no matter how much wealth, beauty, strength or power we have.

b. Some people believe that surrender means giving up our material wealth, attachments, and possessions.  That is not true.

c. Surrender really means -

·        Letting go of what we don’t need  (clean out our physical and mental closets).

·        Letting go of fear, anger, poverty, resentment, worry, stress, and unhappiness.

e.  Does anyone here not want to give up these negative conditions and effects?

f.  Why not trust in a Higher Power that is within, around, and works through you, that created the entire universe, and keeps it running in perfect, right order?  Who else, besides God, is a more qualified, trusted partner?

5.  There are two parts to manifesting anything:  Our part and God’s part.

a.  To the degree that we are overly attached to things turning out exactly as we think they should, we feel stressed.  Trying to control the results of our labor, trying to do God’s part, creates this “stress”.

b.  Once we have done everything in our power to manifest our desire, we must let go and let God do the rest.

c.  We have a right to use the Law of Cause and Effect (an aspect of God) to manifest desired results, but God is always the actual doer-creator-maker, not us.  Yet, we get in God’s way and try to control the end-results by telling God how to do God’s part. Why?

d.  People stress out because they haven’t done their part to the fullest or they lack faith in God doing God’s part.  They have no trust in God.  But we need to have and do both.

e.  Isaiah 26:3 says:  “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee, because he trusteth in thee.”

6.  Your job is to pray and ask God for what you desire and take all actions necessary to support that desire.  It is not your job to tell God how to create your desire. Trying to control God doesn’t work and sabotages you. It’s counterproductive.

a.  As long as you stand in God’s way, everything stays in your way.  Get out the of the way, let go and let God do God’s part!  Surrender to God; have faith; trust God.

b.  Say:  “God is my protector and maintainer.  I love and trust God.  Everything is working out perfectly for my highest good.  There is nothing to worry about and all is well.”
