Channel light to those in the circle. 7. Sharing: With everyone seated again, take a few minutes and go round the circle, giving everyone an opportunity to share what was new, good, or simply on top of their minds. 8. Stretching/Exercise: Invite each person to demonstrate and lead us in a particular stretch or exercise. 9. Massage: Form a circle, turn left, and massage the back of the person in front of you. 10. Topic: (Leader Reads) Today, 8 Dec, many Christians celebrate Mary's immaculate conception. Mary symbolizes more than the Mother of Jesus. Think about her. She is spiritually pure; she is a kind, nurturing, and compassionate; she gives life; she leads and teaches her son about spiritual matters; she is a role model; she performs selfless service to Jesus and God. Her love of God culminates in the ultimate surrender of her most valued possession to God, namely her son, for the highest good of humanity. She is all the positive qualities of Divine Mother, of Earth Mother, personified. 11. Reflection: ( Leader Reads) How does your life resemble that of Mary's? Are you also not kind, compassionate, loving? A giver or sustainer of life? Don't you teach others on spiritual matters? Don't you perform selfless service for family and others? Feel the Mother energy in you as you too are one with Mother. 12. Anointing: Let us give recognition to the mother energy in each of us by anointing ourselves. 13. Reading: (Each member of the circle reads a line)
a. As a Mother hen gathers her young around her, so too does the Divine Mother shelter us in the shadow of her wings. b. As a woman celebrates when her lost child has been found, so too does our Mother rejoice when she finds compassion in the hearts of her children. c. As Mary recognized human need at the wedding feast in Cana and made it known to her child, Jesus, so is our Divine Mother moved by the needs of her people and makes them know to us. d. Mother, speak to us; free us; heal us. e. Mother bless this oil of anointing. Make it an oil of gladness and of healing, a lotion of strength and tenderness. f. We pray that by this anointing, our hands and hearts might be strengthened for whatever service lies ahead, that we might be compassionate to the needs of humans and all living beings, tender and strong in our care for one another, genuine in our friendship, and faithful to the commitments we have made. g. We pray that through the power of Mother that we know the unity that is ours: sisters and brothers of a common family, sharing a single home on planet earth, as children of one Great Spirit. h. With this shared hope and faith, we ask your blessing as we anoint one another.
14. Anointing: Pass the vile of oil around, each anointing the member on there left, making a star on the forehead. 15. Silent Meditation (keep short) 16. Closing: (Form Circle) " Let us go forward, blessed with health, abundance, knowledge and lots of opportunity for spiritual growth. Let our souls be victorious." 17. Pass the Candle around, taking of the symbolic spiritual light. 18. Hugs for all. God/Goddess Bless! |
