New Orleans Voodoo Tarot The New Orleans Voodoo Tarot draws its inspiration from Voodoo practices and understandings as they have developed in New Orleans. Louis Martinie and artist Sallie Ann Glassman created this deck as "an act of service to the loa" or spirits that are the focus of Voodoo beliefs. This deck finds the common threads that underlie the tarot of the Golden Dawn and Voodoo. The four suits are the four Voodoo nations - groups of rites and spirits that "walk together." The royal court card names have been changed to those associated with an Haitian hounfor or temple. The major arcana are spirits, places, qualities and historical figures important to the Voodoo tradition. This deck is only available as a deck/book set with The New Orleans Voodoo Tarot also by Martinie and Glassman (276 pages).
