Dead Sea Scrolls 
A new video, entitled as above, has recently appeared on the market rendering obsolete earlier date projections and interpretations of the Dead Sea Scrolls. The Dead Sea Scrolls were found in the nearby caves at Qumran, Israel, an ancient Essene community, now in ruins. The scrolls were found in 1947 and more in 1950, in multiple Qumran caves. To date there are approximately 35 scroll volumes of which only 15 are published. The original scrolls were dated by scholars back to 150 to 100 B.C., and consequently were thought to bear no correlation to the early Christian Church and Jesus Christ.
However, Dr. Thiering , an Australian has challenged the academic and theological communities with two new discoveries:
1) The original dating of the scrolls as being written 140 B.C. is wrong. The scrolls , written in semi-cursive script, made dating difficult and resulted in the original dating error. The contents of the scrolls suggests that the actual writing occurred from approximately 60 B.C. to 70 A.D.
2) The new interpretation technique called "Patia", developed from the study of the scrolls, can not only be applied to the scrolls, but also the New Testament, rendering an entirely different interpretation than presently held.
The Patia Technique interprets a document from the mind set and language meaning of the applicable historical period and from the socio-cultural and political perspective of the time. In the case of the scrolls and New Testament, a Hellenistic world mind set needs to be applied. For example, "leavened bread" or "the bread" actually refers to the Levite Priests who disseminated the holy bread during communion rituals. In applying the Patia Technique to the Dead Sea Scrolls and the New Testament, Jesus Christ or Paul becomes the "wicked Priest" and John the Baptist, the "Teacher of Righteousness". Further, all of Christ's miracles are explained away in concrete historical events that do not involve the supernatural. In fact Jesus was surrendered by his own political party, the Zealots, and crucified by Pilot because of this political affiliation to the Zealots. Lastly, Christ did not die on the cross, but survived and lived to a ripe old age. After the cross incident, he actually did appear to the early Christian Apostles, from John, to Peter and Paul, in the living flesh because he indeed was alive.
Dr. Thiering's interpretation rings of truth, as history is not invented or speculative or filled with the supernatural. The Patia Technique gives us a truthful, consistent and accurate historical picture of Jesus and the early Christian Church. Jesus was made to suffer on the cross because of political affiliations, religious fantasy, bigotry, and hatred in the name of holiness. This fantasy has been carried across the centuries and still persists, obscuring the message that Jesus and his followers taught and modeled 2,000 years ago, namely: Non-violence/Peace, Forgiveness, Love, Healing, and Spiritual Teaching.
Christ taught and demonstrated that we are all children of God, filled with goodness. He encouraged the lay Jews and Gentiles to assume responsibility for their own spiritual growth. He taught that everyone was a minister/priest, not just a few because of some birth right.
Perhaps now we can learn the true meaning of Christianity, putting the miracles and children stories to rest. We can now, thanks to the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Patia Technique find the real historical Jesus who has been present in the New Testament all the time.
How the established Church and current theological groups deal with the new evidence will prove interesting. Will they ignore the findings or re-write Christian history and doctrine? Nonetheless, each of us has a responsibility to decide the truth for ourselves.
